Between 2000 and 2004, the South saw a net migration of 1.4 million, mostly in the South Atlantic states of Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. The Northeast, and in particular the Mid-Atlantic states of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, saw a net loss of nearly 1 million between 2000 and 2004.

As the housing market slows, there will likely be a lot of stories of people who are bailing out of their real estate jobs and other professions related to housing - appraisers, mortgage brokers and home construction workers - and many not by choice.

Yesterday was Queen Elizabeth's 80th Birthday. If you are lucky and the Queen likes you, she can still make you into a Duke, Baron, Earl, Lord or Knight of the realm. However, there appear to be at least one Aristocrat left in Virginia - the Earl of Real Estate. Given the deteriorating real estate market, the Earl can be either one of two things; a) very stupid or b) a brilliant realtor. Have you ever seen an ad for the "Prince of Plumbers"?
